Our Abyss

One day, at a new bar, Ianthe meets them, a quiet and reserved bartender, their eyes meeting Ianthe’s as they poured Ianthe a large shot of vodka with a squeeze of lime. Ianthe knows that she has never seen this bartender before, but something in her sparks recognition nonetheless. In the middle of her drink, surprising herself, Ianthe finds herself grabbing the sleeve of the bartender’s uniform. A new name magically forms on the tip of her tongue as she calls out, “Iphis.”
